Terry Fox Info

Good morning,

St. Bernard School is proud to take part in this year’s Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope and St. Bernard’s 16th Annual Terry Fox Walk/Run on Friday, October 1st (rain date: Monday, October 4th).  All monies raised are for the Terry Fox Foundation and will further the cause of cancer research.  Throughout the week, we will also be learning about the legacy Terry created 40 years ago when he began his Marathon of Hope.

Our walk/run will look different this year, as it will be done as a primary division (9:30-10:30) and then repeated afterwards as a junior division (10:45-11:45) to comply with social distancing and COVID protocols.  Kindergarten classes will facilitate their run at a convenient time in their schedule. It will occur in the park across from our school.  Parent volunteers will not be permitted this year.

Another change is that all donations will be done online this year.  Please help show your support by donating at the following website: http://www.terryfox.ca/StBernardESOttawa.  If you are unable to donate online and would like to support by bringing in a Toonie $2 for Terry, you can bring it to school on the Friday of the Run.

Students can even get involved by creating their own fundraising page under their school name.  Simply click on the Students/Classrooms: Set up a Page link found on the above website.

Thank you for supporting our school in the fight against cancer and continuing Terry’s legacy!

Sincerely,

St. Bernard School
