Hello Everyone
The weeks are definitely flying by...we are already in the middle of May and that means we are about to begin EQAO. Your child will be coming home with a letter today discussing EQAO and some parent tips for your child as we are in the home stretch. Please read the document coming home and explore the EQAO website with your child. We have done a lot of preparation in class and I am confident that they are very ready for the test. Please ensure students get a good night's sleep during the week of testing. We will begin testing Thursday May 25 and we will write for 6 days. Please try your best to have your child attend school on those days.
I would also like to point out that another note will be coming home on Monday. The school board offers a Numeracy and Literacy Skills Development Program over the month of July. Below is the information:
For students currently in grade 6, 7 or 8. This program will run from July 5 - July 26 from 8:30 am-12:00 pm at Holy Trinity HS, St. Pius X HS and Immaculata HS. This program is designed to enhance the literacy and numeracy skills of students who are presently achieving at level 2 or lower, and are at a risk. In this program, students receive encouragement, gain confidence and learn how to improve reading, writing, numeracy, study and organizational skills required for success.
NOTE: Transportation is offered ONLY for Grades 7, 8 & 9 Numeracy/Literacy Students.
If you do not receive the registration form and you are interested in your child attending, please just write a note in your child's agenda and I will send one home.
