HEADER - DO NOT TOUCH

We had another great week! This week we continued to work on our understanding of whole numbers up to 1 000 000. Students have been working through centres to reinforce skills like representing, compare and ordering numbers using base ten blocks, number lines, etc. This week we will move on to prime and composite numbers.

In language, we continue to work on sentence structure and complete versus incomplete sentences. In reading, we have been looking at making connections to what we read. We are using our prior knowledge to dig deep into what we are reading in order to try and connect through the author's message, events, settings, problems, etc. We are focusing our reading around social justice issues. This week we read Craig Kielburger's book- It takes a Child. This week we will focus our writing on descriptive writing by doing a sensory walk outside. We will look at fall colours and nature to help with our descriptive language.

In religion, we continue to talk about dignity of the Person and what that means. We have had discussions around Love and how it's life giving. Important to note: Wednesday October 17 at 7:00 pm there is a meeting about Confirmation.

In Science this week, we hosted our annual Global Cardboard challenge with our grade 2 buddies from Mrs. Eaton's Class and Mrs. Roche's class. Check out the video created from that day.

Happy Week
