HEADER - DO NOT TOUCH

Update

It's almost May and where has the time gone! This coming week we celebrate education week. A great week to highlight all the amazing things that are happening in our school. It is a week filled with school activities and open houses for parents to pop in and see their child's work. A few things planned for this week:

Monday- students in grade 2 and 5 will be participating in a paint night idea (during block 1 and 2). We have 3 artists that will be teaching the students how to paint a picture that the artist has created on the theme "Doors of Mercy." If you child has an old shirt, can you please send it to school as we will be painting that morning.

Tuesday- those students participating in Dance Showcase will be off to a local high school to perform their dance.

Wednesday- Potluck Muffin Open House Breakfast in our Gymnasium on Wednesday, May 4th from 8:00 am to 9:10 a.m.  It will be a great opportunity to meet and network with other members of the St. Bernard Community. We hope to see you there.

I had the opportunity this past week to attend a conference in Niagara Falls called Connect 2016 Canada's Learning and Technology Conference. I was fortunate enough to meet and speak to many amazing educators from around the province. I attended presentations on makerspaces, to sketchnoting, to robotics, to coding, all things I cannot wait to try in our classroom. I had the amazing opportunity to meet and hear Commander Chris Hadfield speak about his journey to space and his passion to persevere to reach his goals. I am truly inspired by the things I learned at this conference and cannot wait to share this journey with all of you.
